At Indigo Guelph

Yesterday, I participated in a book signing at Indigo Guelph. I enjoyed meeting with the many readers and wannabe writers who stopped to chat and express an interest in my cozy mysteries and paranormal romances. As always, creative conversations are lively and full of surprises.

In Praise of Audiobooks

The numbers are mind-boggling!

• In 2017, the audiobook market captured over $2.5 billion in sales. HarperCollins, Hachette, Simon & Schuster, and Penguin Random House have all verified that profits in their digital units were due primarily to audiobooks. (E-book sales declined by about 5%)
• Forty-eight percent of all listeners are under the age of 35. Members of that cohort listen to an average of 15 books per year.
• Seventy-seven percent of frequent listeners claim that audiobooks have helped them finish more books.

At first skeptical, I hesitated when Senior Editor Rhonda Penders introduced the idea of audiobook publishing with ACX to The Wild Rose Press authors. But my well-honed left brain simply couldn’t ignore the numbers and the following benefits.
